Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 22, 2026

Table Talk Spades (“Table Talk Spades,” “we,” “us”) is a mobile-web Spades game operated by Design Matrix Studio. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

We keep data collection to what the game needs to work.

  • Information you give us. A display name when you take a seat at a table, and an email address if you join the waitlist. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google (see “Signing in with Google” below).
  • Gameplay data. Tables you create or join, seats, bids, tricks, scores, rules, reactions, and similar in-game activity needed to run and sync the game.
  • Device & usage data. Basic, privacy-friendly analytics (for example page views and in-app events such as “table created”) collected via Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies to track you across sites.
  • Local storage. We store a random session token and small preferences (such as saved rule presets) in your browser so you can rejoin a table after a refresh or disconnect. This is not used to track you across other websites.

Signing in with Google

Signing in with Google is optional. If you use it, Google shares your basic profile (name, email address, and profile picture) so we can show your name and photo at the table and remember you across devices. We do not receive your Google password, and we only request basic profile and email scopes. You can revoke access at any time in your Google account settings.

How we use information

  • Run, sync, and recover live games across players' devices.
  • Show your name and (if provided) profile picture to your table.
  • Send waitlist and product updates if you opted in.
  • Understand usage in aggregate so we can improve the game.
  • Keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

How information is shared

We share data only with service providers that help us run the app, under their respective terms:

  • Supabase — database and realtime sync (stores table, player, and game data).
  • Vercel — hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.

Data retention

We keep game and account data for as long as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it. Inactive guest tables and their data may be removed periodically. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see “Your choices”).

Your choices

  • Play as a guest without signing in.
  • Unsubscribe from waitlist emails at any time.
  • Disconnect Google access from your Google account settings.
  • Request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us at the address below.

Children

Table Talk Spades is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including keeping each player's hand private on the server. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International users

We operate in the United States, and your information is processed there. By using the app you understand your information may be processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, may provide additional notice in the app.
