Written steps
- 1
Know their target
The other team’s regular bids total seven. In a standard thirteen-book hand, they need at least seven to make that bid.
- 2
Count the remaining room
If your team wins seven books, only six remain for them. They cannot reach seven in that hand.
- 3
Balance the score
A set can be valuable, but check your own bid, bags, and team points. Do not chase extra books without considering the scoring tradeoff.
Try it at your table
How many books must your team win to leave a team bidding eight at most seven?
